爱奇艺UNVEILS Ambitious Plan to Strengthen Its Presence in the Global 2D Animation Ecosystem through Strategic Partnerships with Leading IPs
At the recently concluded 2018 Aiqiyi FUN Summit held on November 7-8, 2018, in Haikou City, Hainan Province, China, Aiqiyi made a series of groundbreaking announcements that marked its determination to expand its reach and strengthen its position as a major player in the global animation industry. The event saw high-profile collaborations between Aiqiyi and several influential partners from various sectors of the entertainment industry.
Aiqiyi's Senior Vice President, Mr. Geng Danghao expressed his company's commitment to becoming not just a platform for broadcasting anime content but also an integral part of the entire animation industry ecosystem. Since launching its comic book business in September 2016, Aiqiyi has focused on creating a healthy and positive environment for young readers by offering them engaging and uplifting content.
The platform boasts over two billion registered users with more than five million active users per month. It currently hosts over 2500 titles including popular works such as "Today I Became a Star," "Cat Girl Revenge Diary," and "Poorman." These numbers have cemented Aiqiyi's position as one of China's leading platforms for comics.
In addition to these achievements, Aiqyi announced that it will be collaborating with Flipped Comics (翻翻动漫集团) to bring new original titles such as artist Misha's popular manga work "Hidden Aristocrat" under their banner. This move is expected to further enhance their collection of top-tier comics.
Moreover, during this eventful summit, DeNA signed an agreement with Aiqi which marks another significant milestone for both companies. For the first time ever in Sino-Japanese collaboration history they agreed jointly develop projects based on DeNA Japan’s light novel IP EVERESTAR into Chinese-language manga format. Two notable titles include novels like “S”and“Sweet.” This innovative approach signifies a shift away from traditional licensing agreements towards co-production models where both parties share rights across multiple media formats like games or animations.
Underlying all these strategic partnerships lies “Cyan Sky Project,” aimed at breaking down boundaries between second-dimensional (2D) animation and third-dimensional (3D) entertainment industries by transforming comic books into live-action web series featuring famous characters from hit shows like “Poor King,” “Contemporary University Students’ Overview,”and“Idol Game.”
In her keynote speech titled 'Building FUN Dimension,' Li Fei reiterated her vision: "Aqyqi aims at strengthening our presence within the global 2D animation ecosystem through strategic alliances while deepening our understanding of potential markets within digital content monetization."
This ambitious plan reflects loveable AIQIYI’s desire to become more than just an anime streaming service; instead it wants itself seen as comprehensive creator & broadcaster network connecting creators & fans worldwide – bridging gaps across different aspects – making sure every corner is filled up by fun!
